This information is brought to you by Fuller's Insurance and is to help guide you along the way. Please note this is a quick Reference Guide to Insurance Forms for Single Family Dwellings. You should contact an Insurance Company to find out exactly what you will need for your property of choice. All information below is for informational purposes and not to be used as a final decision of your insurance. Fuller Insurance and Coldwell Banker Schmitt do not have a partnership and this is for your information only. Information may change as new policies and regulations get changed. Again, please contact an insurance agent for further help.
*Required if home is in an AE or VE Flood Zone and Home was Constructed After 1974.
Note: Even if the home was built before 1975 and the home is in an AE or VE flood zone, it may be beneficial to have an elevation certificate done if the home is elevated. It is a gamble, however, on recommending one. If the home was built higher than the "base flood elevation" (the elevation that a new home would be required to be built to), there will be a huge savings on flood insurance to have the elevation certificate done. On the other hand, if the home was built under the "base flood elevation" we will not use the elevation certificate and it would have been a waste of money to obtain it.
*If home is over 20 years old, we recommend that you go ahead and order it.
Note: This one is tough because some companies only require it if the home is over 50 years old, others if the home is over 25. One company may require proof that the roof was updated if the home is over 20 years old, but only requires the 4-point if the home is over 41 years old. Since it varies so much between insurance companies, we recommend obtaining the 4-point any time the home is over 20 years old.
*Required on homes over 50 years old if roof covering is made of metal, tile, slate, clay or concrete.
Required on homes over 25 years old with any other type of roof covering, such as shingles or rolled roofing.
Note: This is a requirement to obtain wind insurance through Citizens. If the customer will not be purchasing wind insurance, they will not need this form.
*This form is not required unless the home has a replacement cost of over $750,000 and then the form must show that there are shutters covering all openings. There are two different mitigation forms, one for homes with replacement costs over $750,000 and one for homes with replacement costs under $750,000.
Note: Even though not required unless it is a high value home, we recommend that this form be done on every home. It almost always pays for itself, sometimes many times over. This form only needs to be done once and the discounts remain on the policy year after year.
Note: If the customer will not be purchasing wind insurance, they will not need this form.
